Datuk Seri Najib Razak , the former prime minister of Malaysia , has stated in his 525-page witness statement that he was transparent about funds deposited into his AmIslamic account. Najib claims these funds were a donation from the late King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia for corporate social responsibility and political financing. He informed the then-AmBank Group managing director, Cheah Tek Kuang, about the incoming donation immediately after opening the account.
Najib insists that all funds were spent in accordance with the trust reposed in him by King Abdullah and that he meticulously recorded all expenditures.
