An approaching weather system could impact early holiday travel with high winds and rain or a wintry mix later in the week, forecasters say.

But they did say the possibility of rain and snow could materialize on Thursday and Friday across some areas of the state. Weather conditions leading up to Thanksgiving are a perennial concern given the expectation of a high volume of holiday travelers along major roads and at air ports.
