The social media post allegedly created by an Egg Harbor Township High School teacher surfaced recently and was reported to local police. The post was then referred to the Secret Service. The teacher, who has not been named publicly by authorities, chose to resign effective June 30, Egg Harbor Township School Superintendent Kim Gruccio confirmed to NJ Advance Media. The last day for students is June 23, according to the high school’s academic calendar.
The resignation was announced at a regularly scheduled school board meeting Tuesday, though no details were shared about the investigation or the teacher’s reasoning. School district officials would not say if the teacher is still working or has been placed on leave.“The district is cooperating with law enforcement and is conducting an investigation; however, as this is a personnel matter under New Jersey law, I cannot comment further at this time,” Gruccio said in an email.
