A 34-year-old Paterson man pleaded guilty Friday to aggravated manslaughter for a deadly stabbing at a YMCA building in the city last year, authorities said. Under a plea agreement, prosecutors are seeking a 26-year prison term for Jasmir Cleaves when he is sentenced in September, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police were called to the Ward Street YMCA around noon Aug. 6, 2021 for a report of a stabbing, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
