The Middlesex County man was arrested and charged last week with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor before two more juvenile victims came forward, authorities say.

Raymond Remus, 45, of Spotswood was charged with additional counts of second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child regarding two new juvenile victims. Wednesday’s announcement adds to three previous charges from last week including first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child regarding two initial victims.

Spotswood police and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office investigated allegations of sexual assault and arrested Remus last Thursday without incident, authorities said. Officials did not release additional information Wednesday on what led to the investigation and what was discovered.Remus is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center after a pre-trial detention hearing, according to authorities.Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call Detective Fedak with the Spotswood Police Department at 732-251-2121 orDetective Kirsh at the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Special VictimsUnit at 732-745-3711.
