The head of Myanmar’s military government has granted amnesty to more than 10,000 prisoners, mostly political prisoners, and reduced other inmates’ sentences to mark a holiday. State media reported the amnesty Monday though the releases may take a few days to complete. There was no sign former leader Aung San Suu Kyi would be freed.
