There were only a handful of masks in sight, a shock to 33-year-old Kyle Anderson, who had planned on attending the parade in 2020 for the first time since moving to Dallas in 2009 — only for it to be“This is a Dallas bucket list item, and I wasn’t going to risk missing it again,” he said, sporting a pair of neon-green shamrock glasses and a shimmering top hat.
Proceeds from the parade went to the Greenville Avenue Area Business Association’s scholarship fund, which provides a total of $45,000 to graduating seniors in Dallas ISD each year. In honor of Nowitzki, this year’s goal was to raise $41,000. “It was hard to not have these memories to make with Noah, who was just old enough to go and really enjoy it when everything shut down,” she said. “This, I hope, is the start of better days for all of us in this city.”
