Motorcycle rider dies after running into light pole in Escondido [Breaking]

A motorcycle rider died Sunday night after he ran into a light pole in Escondido, police said.

The man was heading north on North Escondido Boulevard just north of Washington Avenue around 10 p.m. when his motorcycle left the roadway for an unknown reason and hit the pole, police said. When officers arrived, they found the man in the street and unresponsive. They administered CPR until paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital where he died, police said.Investigators say they don’t know whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the solo-vehicle crash. The name of the man who died has not been released pending notification of his family.
