Fire crews raced to Mitchell Street in Leith after the alarm was raised at around 7.35pm on Friday.
Firefighters were sent to the scene after initial fears that smoke was coming from a residential building.
Crews were filmed by a nearby resident who recorded the incident from their flat window. The motorbike could be seen engulfed in flames while a firefighter hosed down the vehicle.
