Looking ahead, rain chances return next week.

) - Clouds increase tonight with mild temperatures and improving moisture. Sunday and Monday will be cooler with mostly cloudy skies, breezy coastal winds, and a high risk of rip currents at the beaches.

Looking ahead, rain chances return next week, which could help chip away at the developing drought and bring much-needed moisture back to the region.Clouds will gradually increase overnight as winds turn in from the southeast and bring more moisture back into the region. This added moisture will help ease the very dry air that caused the high fire danger today. Skies will become mostly cloudy late tonight, especially closer to the coast, with clouds slowly spreading inland by morning. Temperatures will stay mild, generally falling into the upper 40s inland and lower to mid 50s closer to the coast. Winds will begin to pick up late tonight, especially near the beaches and coastal waters.Sunday will be noticeably cooler and cloudier compared to today. Expect mostly cloudy skies through the morning with low clouds hanging around into early afternoon before gradually breaking up later in the day. The extra cloud cover and onshore southeast winds will keep temperatures in check, with highs mainly in the upper 60s to lower 70s. It will feel a bit breezy at times, especially near the coast.will develop and continue through Monday due to increasing onshore winds and rough surf. Marine conditions will also become hazardous for small boats, with strong winds and rough waters expected.Clouds will continue to move in and out on Monday with a mild and slightly more humid feel across the area. Temperatures will remain near or slightly below normal, generally in the upper 60s to low 70s during the afternoon. Breezy conditions may continue along the coast, and the rip current risk is expected to remain high. The overall weather pattern begins to shift as we head into the middle of next week. Moisture continues to increase across the Gulf Coast, and several chances for rain enter the forecast from midweek into late week. This will bring periods of showers and possibly a few thunderstorms. This is great news considering the ongoing dry conditions and developing drought across parts of the region. While one round of rain will not completely eliminate the drought, multiple chances for rainfall next week could help improve soil moisture, reduce fire danger, and provide some much-needed relief to vegetation and waterways. The key will be consistent rounds of rain over several days to make a meaningful impact.Milton woman arrested on felony charges including child pornography, sexual contact with animalFlorida man pulled over by troopers after multiple calls about missiles in his truck bed
