It will shut down its branches in Bolton, Faversham and the supermarket on Blackpool Road in Preston
. The Morrisons on Blackpool Road will be sold to Tesco, Birmingham Live reports.
A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “Following a thorough review of our Faversham and Bolton Breightmetstore's operation, unfortunately we do not believe performance is sustainable and we are therefore announcing today that we have made the difficult decision to sell the stores."It comes after it emerged Morrisons has become the first UK supermarket to introduce recycling points for coffee machine pods.
"This is another exciting step forward towards providing consumers with easy and convenient ways to recycle their used coffee pods. We welcome and encourage other retailers to join Podback and make it even easier for consumers to recycle pods in the future.”
