The Huntsville Police Department has arrested a Montgomery woman on a capital murder charge.
Officials arrested 20-year-old Alazia Na’Riya Latrice Harris for the deadly shooting of 21-year-old Naji Wiggins in the early morning hours of July 20.
Officers responded to Spool Lane and found Wiggins lying unresponsive outside of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds. A second gunshot victim, identified as Chauncey Devon Smith, 26 of Selma, showed up at a local hospital a short time later. The people who transported Smith to the hospital were detained.
Investigators determined Smith was involved in the shooting on Spool Lane and learned that the shooting was a result of an attempted robbery. Officials say a Capital Murder warrant has been issued for Smith who has not been booked into the Madison County Jail at this time since he is continuing to receive medical treatment for a gunshot wound.She was transported to Huntsville on Wednesday and was booked into the Madison County Jail.Copyright 2024 WAFF.
