Two programs in Montgomery are working to keep our young people on track and make a difference in the midst of violence.
Tobarie Burton and Ken Austin say they are doing everything they can to uplift Montgomery’s youth and keep them out of trouble.MONTGOMERY, Ala. -
“We do have kids come in and tell us about different things that may have went on over the weekend at their home,” said Burton, a director at the“I witness it every day. I witness mothers who are trying to take care of their children who don’t have the earning income and ability to take care of a household,” said Austin, director of the MAP/Mercy House.exist. Burton grew up in the Boys & Girls Club program, now he’s the director of the West End Club.
In that same effort, Mercy House Director Ken Austin says being a positive presence makes all the difference.
