The Mobile County Judicial Commission has announced a timeline for filling a vacancy on the Circuit Court following the resignation of Circuit Judge Michael Sherman. According to a release dated March 24, Place 9 on the Mobile County Circuit Court is now vacant, and the commission is responsible under state law for overseeing the nomination process.
The application process begins immediately. Prospective candidates can pick up application packets from Kristin Muscat in Court Administration on the eighth floor of Mobile Government Plaza, 205 Government St., Room 858.The commission will publicly release the names of applicants on April 24, opening a period for public comment that runs through May 11. After reviewing applications and public input, the commission is scheduled to meet May 14 to select three finalists. Gov.
