However, a significant number, ranging from 29% to 38%, admitted to feelings of fear, anger, or devastation. The reactions varied by political affiliation: Republicans predominantly expressed positive emotions like optimism, relief, excitement, and pride, while Democrats predominantly felt afraid, angry, or devastated. Additionally, 90% of Americans, including 99% of Republicans and 84% of Democrats, declared their acceptance of Trump as the legitimate president
