A 40-year-old woman from Mississippi was arrested in Daphne, Alabama, after a string of vehicle thefts and unlawful entries. Katie Diana Brewer was charged with multiple felonies, including theft of property and assault.
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., Daphne Police apprehended Katie Diana Brewer, a 40-year-old resident of Pass Christian, Mississippi, for a series of crimes involving vehicle theft and unlawful entry. Brewer's spree began when she entered Daphne driving a stolen Jeep Wrangler, which she parked at 5631 Rand Avenue. She then proceeded to trade the stolen Jeep for an unattended, unlocked Toyota Rav4 she found with the keys in plain view.
Brewer drove the Toyota to a business on Friendship Road, where she swapped it for an unlocked Cadillac Escalade, again with the keys readily accessible. Brewer fled the scene, but the owner of the Cadillac was able to track the SUV's location through a phone application and notified the authorities. Minutes later, Daphne Police Department Patrol Officers located Brewer inside the Cadillac Escalade at the Dollar General on Hwy 181. They subsequently took her into custody for felony Theft of Property (x2) related to the two vehicle thefts. During their investigation, officers discovered that Brewer had also entered an unlocked Ford pickup truck prior to their arrival, resulting in an additional charge of felony Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle.Brewer refused to cooperate with police investigators or provide any explanation for her criminal actions. Shortly after being booked at the Daphne City jail, Brewer unexpectedly and violently attacked two female Correction Officers. She was subsequently charged with felony Assault 2nd degree (x2) and transported to Baldwin County Corrections in Bay Minette, where she is currently being held on a combined $45,000 bond
