Officers found the remains and a man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot while investigating a woman's disappearance, Aurora Police said.said they are investigating a homicide-suicide that started with a report of a woman who went missing while on her job as a housekeeper.
Police said officers responded around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday to an apartment in the 18300 block of East Kepner Place for a report of a missing woman. The caller said his mother was scheduled to arrive at 7 a.m. at a housekeeping job at the apartment complex and did not show up to other appointments later in the day.
Officers found the woman's car in the parking lot and tried to contact the resident inside the apartment without success. They decided to enter the apartment, and heard a single gunshot when they did, police said.Dismembered remains that appeared to belong to an adult woman were found inside, police said.
