The body of Elsie Wiggington, a Virginia mother who has been missing since June 2023, has been found, according to the Amherst County Sheriff.
Elsie Wiggington 's loved ones reported her missing last June, but the sheriff's office told them she probably just left on her own.
Around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday Ayers said the sheriff's office executed a search warrant at the property where Elsie's home is on Pendleton Drive. Ayers said he wanted the community to know that his office has been unceasingly working on the case as soon as they were alerted. ABC13 has reported that Elsie's family reported her missing multiple times last year under the old Amherst County Sheriff's Administration. The family said nothing happened. While he did not speak for the previous sheriff's administration, Ayers did say it was an immediate priority for his admin.
