14 years ago, a Fairbanks man walked out of a friend's house on Chena Hot Springs Road and vanished.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A man named Jonathon Michael Henry walked out of a friend’s house located near Mile 25 of Chena Hot Springs Road, on the morning of March 31, 2010, and has not been heard from since.
Leading up to the time of his disappearance, Henry’s life had been somewhat turbulent. He had recently been convicted of a theft charge and sentenced to incarceration. When he failed to turn up for his jail sentence, a warrant was sworn out for his arrest. Family members said Henry had been very distressed over the death of his grandfather, as well as his upcoming jail time, but that it was unusual for him to go out of contact with his family. In a 2010 public statement, Henry’s fiancé begged him to reach out. “All I can say is please call,” Winfrey said. “Your fiance and kids miss you.”
