will only have one of its starting offensive linemen available for the Nittany Lions’ Pinstripe Bowl matchup with Clemson on Saturday at Yankee Stadium. PSU’s offensive line, thought to be a team strength at the start of the season, opened the year with Drew Shelton and Nolan Rucci at the tackle spots, Vega Ioane and Anthony Donkoh at the guard spots and Nick Dawkins at center.
Donkoh, a redshirt sophomore who can play guard or tackle, is expected to play for the Lions . Donkoh could be one of the starting tackles and PSU will likely turn to key veteran reserves Cooper Cousins and TJ Shanahan Jr. at the guard spots. Veteran Dominic Rulli can play center.“A lot of those guys, Cooper , TJ , Rulli, those guys that played significant snaps for us throughout the year, we expect the same results,” Penn State interim head coach Terry Smith said Friday during a news conference when asked about the Lions’ new-look O-line for Clemson. “It’s the next man up, and with the experience that those guys provide, we don’t expect a drop-off at all.” Smith confirmed Friday that Dawkins, Shelton, Rucci and veteran tight end Khalil Dinkins will not play vs. the Tigers.
