An intense search is underway for an 18-year-old man, Samuel N. Green, who went missing from his home in Crete , Illinois , a suburb of Chicago, earlier this week. Will County deputies responded to a missing person report at Green's residence in the 23800 block of S. Plum Valley on February 5th at approximately 4:25 p.m. Green was last seen on a Ring doorbell camera around 1:40 p.m. that same day near his house.
When Green was not found after the caller searched the area, authorities were contacted.Green was described as being African-American with short dreadlocks, standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing 135 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and black sweatpants, but no shoes, socks, or coat. Authorities emphasized that Green suffers from schizophrenia, paranoia, and other mental health issues. He has prescribed medication for his condition but did not take it. There are concerns that he may run if approached.Extensive efforts have been made to locate Green. Will County deputies, along with additional officers, drones, and K-9 units, have conducted thorough searches of Green's residence and the surrounding areas. However, despite these efforts, Green remains missing. On Saturday, law enforcement conducted another comprehensive search but were still unable to find him. The Will County Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Unit is urging anyone who has seen Green in the Crete area to contact them immediately at 815-727-8574, ext. 4947, or call 911.
