He became one of the best known designers of his generation with the New York logo and his posters for Bob Dylan and “Angels in America.”

Returning to New York, Mr. Glaser had to decide whether to pursue fine art or commercial art — a distinction he eventually helped erode. He settled on commercial art because, he said, “I wanted to do work that was public. I wanted to do work that was on the street.
