Sen. Sullivan discusses the future of the Marine Corps in Alaska.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - On Thursday, June 20, Sen. Dan Sullivan put together a reception for a contingent of Marine generals that had visited Alaska with the senator to learn more about training opportunities and the communities in the last frontier.

All of this information was unveiled at a reception for the generals which took place at the Westmark Hotel where local politicians and other community leaders gathered to speak with the generals and the senator. There is also interest in conducting more infantry training in Alaska. “Even if they’re coming up episodically through our Joint Pacific Multi-Range Complex and out training center every year, they can be a welcome part of that,” said Maj. Gen. Brian Eifler, the commanding general of the 11th Airborne Division.
