India, Singapore and Canada have come to Alaska for the second Red Flag exercise of 2024.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Red Flag - Alaska 24-2 has brought in partners from southern Asia with a focus on the Indo-Pacific region where the U.S. seeks to strengthen relations.wrapped up RFA 24-2 began. In the first Red Flag exercise of 2024, European partners such as Italy and the Netherlands ventured to the far north training grounds of Alaska for aerial opportunities they don’t often get. For RFA 24-2, the U.S.

India and Singapore both hold strategic locations similar to Alaska. Singapore having access to both the Pacific and Indian Oceans and India sitting in close proximity to two the United State’s biggest adversaries, Iran and China. “The Indo-Pacific is pretty much the top priority for the United States and the DOD,” said Cpt. Kyle Dawicki, one of the air bosses for the exercise.

While our partner nations often use the same or similar air crafts as the U.S. they also get to choose what air craft they want to work with during a red flag exercise. “The biggest thing is just being able to conduct operations with all different types of assets and work on the integration part between everybody,” said Dawicki. Among the aircraft used, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the A-10 Warthog and the F-15 Eagle played a large role in the simulations.
