Fighter jets flying out of Moffett Federal Airfield in Santa Clara County has led to noise complaints from Los Gatos and Sunnyvale residents, according to authorities.

Ever since military fighter jets have been flying out of Moffett Federal Airfield as part of training exercises earlier this month, Master Sgt. Joel Mattenson of airfield operations said he’s fielded a noise complaint every single time the jets have taken off.

The Northrop F-5 Tiger Eye II jets have been conducting aircraft operating training missions as “aggressors for the Navy” out of Moffett, near the NASA Ames Research Center, since the beginning of February and will continue to fly across the Bay Area until mid-March. None of the jets are flying out after 8 p.m. or taking off before 8 a.m., Mattenson said.
