Michigan State football is expected to look very different next season, likely led by a new head coach. The Big Ten Conference will look vastly different as well, with the addition of West Coast programs USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon.
On Thursday, we got our first look at Michigan State's full 2024 schedule after the conference announced dates for every league game next year. The Spartans will be participants in the first Big Ten game of the season when they travel to Maryland on Sept. 7 to begin their conference slate. MSU's next league game will be at home against Ohio State , before the Spartans head west on a road trip to Oregon . After a bye week, Michigan State will host Iowa , travel to in-state rival Michigan and then host Indiana . Following a second bye week, the Spartans will finish up with a road trip to Illinois before back-to-back home games against Purdue and Rutgers .
At first glance, Michigan State's conference slate looks to be frontloaded, with games against the Buckeyes, Ducks and Wolverines over the course of a five-week stretch from Sept. 28 to Oct. 26. The Spartans will play three nonconference games in the first four weeks against Florida Atlantic , Louisiana and Boston College .Sept. 21 — at Boston College
