PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh is back in Malaysia for the annual Qing Ming festival.
“She wanted to have some quiet time with her mother and their family.In an Instagram post on Wednesday , Yeoh brought her Oscar statuette to her late father Datuk Yeoh Kian Teik’s gravesite in Paradise Memorial Park in Tanjung Rambutan.“Brought Mr O Home... Without my parents' love and trust and support ... I wouldn’t be here today. Love so much,” said Yeoh in the posting.
Qing Ming, also known as the Tomb Sweeping Day, is when Chinese families clean grave sites to commemorate their ancestors and honour those who have passed away. The festival falls on April 5 this year and it is usually observed 10 days before or after the actual date. Yeoh, who was born in Ipoh, was the first Asian actress to win an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once”.She also went on to star in Hollywood movies in leading roles such as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
