The legendary footballer and Indigenous activist will walk from Melbourne to Canberra in support of the Voice but has stressed the importance of having both sides of politics on board to ensure its long-term sustenance.

In an exclusive interview with Sky News Australia, the accomplished former footballer and Indigenous rights activist spoke candidly on the referendum and the opportunities it poses, following the passage of the Voice bill through the Senate’s Upper House on Monday.

“What we’re going to do now as well as in the future - we left that door open. Ultimately, at the end of the day, we want to move forward as a nation but we can’t do that unless we work together.”
