An emergency warning is in place for Seacombe, Loch Sport, Briagolong, Stockdale, Iguana Creek and Glenaladale in Victoria. Keep up to date withSeveral hundred migrants in southern Mexico wait for buses to the country's north in a new government program meant to help manage the number of people entering, as Mexico's president says 10,000 people have been reaching the US border each day.

More than 3,000 km south, at a bus terminal in the city of Juchitán in Oaxaca state, some migrants said they would enter the US with appointments secured via a US government app, CBP One, and request asylum. Oaxaca officials opened the site last week to reduce risks for migrants, who had been gathering in large numbers at local bus terminals while trying to buy bus tickets north.

On Monday, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said about 6,000 people were entering southern Mexico daily, and 10,000 migrants reached the US-Mexico border every day last week. Many migrants have been undeterred by the challenges of the journey. Last week at the border in Ciudad Juárez, opposite Texas, a man crawled beneath coils of barbed wire as a young boy followed behind crying, "Papa, Papa".
