Mets starter Luis Severino will avoid facing the Yankees next week

Luis Severino was supposed to face his former team when the Yankees go to Queens next week to face the Mets for the first time this season. But before Friday’s game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, manager Carlos Mendoza announced that’s no longer the case.
While watching Severino take on the only other team he’s known in his professional career would have made for must-see TV, fans will have to wait for next time.
