The Met Office has issued two weather warnings for the weekend with thunderstorms on Saturday making way for heavy rain on Sunday
followed by heavy rain are forecast to sweep across parts of the UK with the potential to cause major travel disruption as weather warnings are issued for the entire weekend.for the whole of Saturday for the southwest of England, most of Wales and central England for thunderstorms and heavy showers.Met Office meteorologist Amy Bokota said: “We start to get a second system rising from the south as we head in towards the early hours of Sunday.
Difficult driving conditions, temporary road closures and significant delays or cancellations to trains and buses due to flooding are predicted. Along the northeast coast of England, cloud coming off the North Sea will mean temperatures dip with a maximum of 15°C but there will be sunshine in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
“We do have a thunderstorm warning in force for quite a large area covering parts of Wales, southwest England and central southern England as well.“It’s a large area but not everywhere will see a thunderstorm, it’s the hit and miss nature of thunderstorms.
