Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil a radical electric supercar concept from its AMG performance division, signaling a significant shift towards electrification. Alongside the supercar, the automaker has a slew of new models planned, including electric versions of popular models like the GLC, C-class, and E-class.

Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for a massive influx of new models , with a particular emphasis on electrifying its lineup. According to a report from Autocar, the star of the show will be a radical electric supercar concept from its AMG performance division, slated for unveiling later this year.

This concept, drawing inspiration from the sleek Vision One-Eleven concept unveiled in 2023, will be a showcase for the potent electric powertrain that will underpin a pair of dedicated AMG EVs hitting the market in the coming years: a sedan and an SUV. A high-ranking insider at Mercedes-AMG revealed to Autocar that the concept will be the fastest-accelerating car AMG has ever produced, thanks to a new axial-flux electric motor developed by Yasa, a British company acquired by Mercedes in 2021. The supercar will also debut a next-generation battery, potentially a solid-state unit, incorporating advancements from the company's High Performance Powertrain division, responsible for the hybrid powertrains powering Mercedes's Formula 1 cars.Beyond the electrifying supercar, Mercedes also has several other models in the pipeline. The CLA, which we recently had the opportunity to test in prototype form, will kick off the brand's 'most intense product launch' program in its nearly 100-year history. The CLA will be available with both an electric powertrain and a 48-volt electrified four-cylinder engine. Furthermore, Mercedes is planning electric versions of the GLC SUV, C-class sedan, and E-class sedan, moving away from the EQ moniker and offering multiple powertrain options under the same nameplate. The GLC EV is expected to debut this year, while the C-class and E-class EVs should follow later. Both the GLC and C-class EVs will offer single-motor/rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor/all-wheel-drive variants, with AMG-tuned versions in the works. Additionally, a new GLB SUV is on the horizon, sharing powertrains and size with the CLA. The electric GLB will replace the EQB nameplate. 2026 will see a refreshed S-class with a new face and upgraded software, enhancing the use of its screen-dominated dashboard. A more advanced Level 3 autonomous driving system will also be introduced, building upon the current Drive Pilot system. The electric EQS is also slated for a significant overhaul and is expected to adopt the S-class name, despite riding on a different platform. AMG's first dedicated EV, the aforementioned sedan, will be unveiled in 2026, followed by the SUV version in 2027. Mercedes has already teased both models undergoing testing. Both the sedan and SUV will be built on a new platform called AMG.EA. Other upcoming models include refreshes for the gas-powered C-class, EQS SUV, EQE sedan, and EQE SUV. The gas-powered GLE and GLS SUVs will also receive a facelift to extend their lifespan to around 2030. Mercedes is also expected to reveal more details about the baby G-class, a recently confirmed model, in 2026 ahead of its 2027 debut. The baby G-class is anticipated to be related to the updated GLB.
