The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is highlighting the importance of wearing seat belts, and they're enlisting the help of rapper and former Buckeye Mekka Don to get the word out.

In anticipation of National Seat Belt Day this Thursday, November 14, the FCSO and Mekka Don are teaming up for a public safety campaign to stress the importance of how seat belts save lives, featuring Mekka Don's song"Buckling up is a habit that everyone should have, just like rooting for the Buckeyes,” Mekka Don said in a media release.

Also joining this initiative are Buckeye alumni including Jimmie Bell, Curtis Grant, and Ryan Miller as well as former First Lady of Buckeye Football Shelley Meyer. "We’re excited to partner with Mekka Don and these incredible Buckeye legends to make our roads safer,” Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said. “Seat belts save lives, and we hope that hearing this message from some of Ohio’s favorite icons inspires everyone to buckle up.”
