Maya Patel (Patel_MM) of CampusVote is putting in the work to help young people feel supported at the polls, and it's paying off
you need in order to actually vote, which includes a Texas driver's license, passport, or some sort of Texas government-issued ID. It does not include a student ID, which is unfortunate. Out-of-state students who want to vote in Texas need to make sure they have their passport, and a lot of students keep their passport at home — or don't have one.
[TX Votes] is a very nonpartisan organization, and we are very strict about being nonpartisan. That has allowed us to get into a lot of these spaces, like classrooms. …. We have to be very careful that we're not leaning one way or the other, or that people don't perceive us as leaning one way or the other at all.
