BUTTERWORTH: Police issued 26 compounds to individuals caught flouting the movement control order (MCO) on Friday (June 5), including those who gathered to indulge in alcohol and some who attempted to cross state borders.
North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the individuals were issued with an RM1,000 compound each under Regulation 7 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease Regulations.
"The group was found hanging out at the restaurant while indulging in alcoholic beverages around 12.15am. "They were caught at around 1am when our patrol found them still hanging out at the spot they were seen earlier."One man was stopped at Pinang Tunggal roadblock while three men were caught by a task force at a petrol station in Butterworth.
