McDonald's is bringing back its iconic Shamrock Shake for another year, this time accompanied by the return of its classic character, Uncle O'Grimacey. The limited-time minty green shake will be available starting February 10th, marking the start of 'Shamrock Season' and a reunion for Grimace and Uncle O'Grimacey. McDonald's is bringing back its beloved Shamrock Shake for another year, this time joined by a familiar face from its past. The minty, green shake will return to participating McDonald's restaurants across the US on February 10th, officially kicking off the annual ' Shamrock Season .' This year's ' Shamrock Season ' also marks a special reunion for McDonald's characters Grimace and Uncle O'Grimacey after many years.

Uncle O'Grimacey, hailing from Ireland, was a popular character featured in McDonald's advertisements during the 1970s and 1980s. McDonald's fans will get a chance to see him spread some Shamrock cheer as he travels coast-to-coast, connecting with fans and celebrating the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Michael Gonda, a McDonald's executive, commented on the return of the Shamrock Shake, saying, 'Our long-standing tradition of the Shamrock Shake is a testament to the joy we bring to our customers. This Shamrock Shake Season, with a little extra cheer from the Grimace family, we’re reminded that the most precious gift is being close to those you love.'The company will donate 25 cents from each Shamrock Shake sold between February 10th and March 23rd to RMHC, a long-standing non-profit organization that supports families of sick and injured children by providing housing and various programs. McDonald's aims to raise $5 million for RMHC through this seasonal campaign. To further support the cause, McDonald's is introducing an 'Uncle O'Grimacey Merchandise Collection,' ranging in price from $6 for decals to $35 for a crewneck sweatshirt. The company also pledged an 'additional donation' to RMHC 'in the spirit of this campaign.' The Shamrock Shake celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2020, with its origins traced back to a Connecticut McDonald's owner/operator named Hal Rosen
