Water concessionaire Maynilad on Sunday said that customers affected by water service interruptions will receive a rebate in their May 2023 bill.

Maynilad said that it identified around 167,500 'lifeline' accounts that were severely affected by water service interruptions owing to the reduced production of the Putatan Water Treatment Plants. These households will receive rebates.Lifeline customers are those who consume less than 10 cubic meters per month. In a statement, Maynilad said that the rebate will be equivalent to the cost of the unused portion of the customers' 10-cu.m. minimum consumption for March.

This means that if these customers only consumed 1 cu.m. in but had to pay the P136.00 minimum charge, they will be entitled to a rebate of P121.98.The rebate amount will vary, depending on the customers' actual March 2023 consumption below 10 cu.m.Maynilad said those eligible for rebate are customers in the cities of Pasay, parts of Makati, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas and Cavite. The total rebate to be given amounts to P10.81 million.
