At least 167,500 customers of Maynilad Water Services Inc. will get a partial refund amounting to P10.81 million in their May water bill, the company announced on Saturday.
Maynilad said some of its “lifeline” customers, or those who consume less than 10 cubic meters a month, in the southern part of its concession area are eligible for the rebate. According to Maynilad, the rebate amount will be depend on the unused portion of the lifeline customers’ 10-CMS minimum consumption in March.
If customers only consumed 1 CMS but still paid the P136 minimum charge for 10 CMS, for example, they will be entitled to a rebate of 9 CMS, or P121.98. “Hence, the rebate amount will vary, depending on the customers’ actual March 2023 consumption below 10 CMS,” the company said.
