There's no time like the present.
I recently realized a flower subscription service is exactly what’s been missing from my life for the last two years. Though I don’t consider myself a Flower Person, a vase full of fresh flowers on the dining room table always makes me happy . But not once in 2020 or 2021 did it cross my mind to buy myself flowers—not even a cheap grocery store bouquet.
To be fair, I was avoiding the grocery store like, um, The Plague. I was also a little preoccupied trying to work while locked in my home with a husband who doesn’t have an inside voice and two small children who take after their dad in the sound department. It was a good day if my living room didn’t look like a condemned daycare or if I didn’t cry. Flowers were the last thing on my mind, but in hindsight, they would have brought me some joy when I needed it most.
Luckily, there’s no time like the present so 2022 will have to be the year I finally give myself the gift of a flower subscription. Now the only hard part will be deciding which one to get. Here are the seven best flower subscriptions for 2022, with the base price for each . Some are more flexible than others, and while the set-it-and-forget-it model is probably the best option for an overwhelmed working mom, many brands make it easy to customize every shipment. And keep in mind that these are all easily giftable, so you might consider sending a three-month
to a friend—especially if you have a friend who’s a medical professional, a teacher, or the parent of small children. The florists at UrbanStems have repeatedly managed to make even my least-favorite flowers into beautiful bouquets, so unless you hate pretty things, you really can't go wrong with a subscription from this brand.
