Mattel has announced that it will be relaunching Barney, the iconic children's franchise that exploded in popularity in the 1990s.

A new animatedseries is set to debut in 2024. The series will feature “music-filled adventures centered on love, community, and encouragement,” according to Mattel’s statement.
“In creating the new series, it was important to us that we properly reflect the world that kids today live in so that the series can deliver meaningful lessons about navigating it,” said SVP and General Manager of Mattel Television Fred Soulie. “With our modern take on, we hope to inspire the next generation to listen, care, and dream big.
