” “When we first bought the farm in 2010, we learned from the Eyssen family just how seasonal and weather-dependent Mapleside can be,” said Mapleside owner, Greg Clement. “A rough fall could make or break the entire year. That’s exactly why we introduced new festivals, expanded concerts, built the barn for weddings, and kept evolving alongside the changing times—because folks just weren’t coming to Mapleside to do their shopping anymore.” Clement said this has led to the development of “new ways to diversify and strengthen Mapleside so it can thrive for decades to come.” In 2024, a vineyard with Marquette and La Crescent grapes was begun on the property. Simultaneously, Clement said, Mapleside began working with the Brunswick Planning Commission on plans for a winery and amphitheater. “We have been working with planning commission for nine months – they have asked us to go back on three or four separate occasions,” he said. “We thought it would go faster – we gotClement said the amphitheater and the projects continue to move forward, including renovations to the entrance and interior of the Mapleside bakery and restaurant areas that will create a more open floor plan and a unique wine barrel themed entryway.
