The storm, characterized by high winds, heavy rain, and numerous lightning strikes, caused widespread damage across several cities, including Houston.Two deaths were caused by falling trees and one by a crane toppling over in the strong winds.
The mayor stressed that only emergency workers should be out on the roads and said that they were working to address the damage.'Stay at home tonight, do not go to work tomorrow unless you're an essential worker. Stay home, take care of your children,' Whitmire said. 'Our first responders will be working around the clock.
