A woman selling char koey teow at a coffeeshop in Ipoh’s Old Town was frustrated as she did not manage to sell even one packet of noodles all morning. Business is usually very brisk. “There are no people coming to pack food, and I wonder how I am going to make money for the remaining days."I have stock up fresh ingredients for the dish, but if no one is coming, what am I going to do with all the items?” she asked.
A drive around the city area saw many coffeeshops, restaurants, and other businesses with their shutters down.
