Mango is literally a treasure trove of new season style buys. Maybe it’s true that Europeans do it better , because there’s always a freshness and a big nod to a trend, but the clothes also have a sense of longevity and sophistication.
The colour palette has a lot to do with this – and I also err on the side of a neutral, especially when dipping my toe into some of the new shapes of the season. For me, style is about looking effortless and pared-back, but you can still achieve this with trend-led pieces, so long as you don’t go crazy with colour too .This week, I’ve focused on print and cuts that will instantly inject something different into your wardrobe. Highlights here are the polkadot barrel jeans , and also the striped peplum asymmetric top, which is gloriously bold but also quite classic. I’d love it with black trousers and heels for the evening, but also with little shorts and flat sandals in the summer . Balloon and harem-shaped trousers are the shape of the season, so there are a couple of options here that will update your wardrobe and then some useful basics too: a spring knit and a neutral, wear-with-everything denim jacket. A few well chosen accessories will also give your outfit a lift. I keep looking at white jazz shoes and am ready to invest in a pair, but for a cheaper fix, a patterned scarf brings instant spring pep too.
