A Venezuelan man, Jose Manuel Guerra-Caballero, was arrested in Indiana on charges of drug and firearm-related crimes in Denver. The arrest, stemming from a lengthy investigation led by the ATF and HSI, involved undercover agents, a paid informant, and multiple firearm purchases. Guerra-Caballero is accused of conspiring with others to provide armed protection for a methamphetamine transaction and of offering illegal services.

A 37-year-old Venezuelan man, Jose Manuel Guerra-Caballero, was arrested on charges of drug and firearm-related crimes in Denver. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado announced the arrest on Friday afternoon, stating that Guerra-Caballero is accused of conspiring with six others to provide armed protection for a 10-pound methamphetamine transaction.

\According to the arrest affidavit obtained by Denver7 Investigates, a months-long investigation led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) uncovered a complex operation involving undercover agents, a paid informant, and multiple gun purchases. \The affidavit details a sting operation where undercover agents arranged six undercover purchases of firearms and a drug known as 'Tusi,' believed to be a mixture of cocaine and methamphetamine. These exchanges allegedly took place at an undisclosed undercover location, but the Ivy Crossing Apartments on South Quebec Street in Denver were cited as the site of alleged criminal activity. Guerra-Caballero is accused of arranging the armed protection remotely and confirming his co-conspirators were ready for the operation. The alleged transaction was a ruse orchestrated by ATF agents who initiated the operation after Guerra-Caballero and his associates offered their services for various illegal and violent activities. \The investigation also revealed that Guerra-Caballero claimed to be able to 'purchase girls' from Mexico and bring them to Denver, allegedly showing an agent videos of young-looking girls holding weapons. Once the staged narcotics transaction was complete, undercover agents gave a pre-planned arrest signal, and an ATF arrest team apprehended six suspects, all confirmed to be unlawfully present in the country and hailing from Venezuela. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Colorado is overseeing Guerra-Caballero's prosecution
