A drive-by shooting in San Antonio left a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

A 39-year-old man was shot in the leg late Monday night while sitting outside a home on West Woodlawn Avenue in San Antonio . Police say as many as three people drove up to the house just before 10 p.m., got out and started shooting. The man was hit by one of the approximately 40 shots fired. His wound is described as non-life-threatening. A woman who lives in the area told KSAT 12 News she initially thought she was hearing fireworks, then became frightened when she realized it was gunfire.

She says she and others in the neighborhood huddled inside their homes, too afraid to even look outside. She says she doesn't understand why someone would've taken aim at that home and that the man who was shot was only visiting
