A San Antonio man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for fatally shooting his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend at an apartment complex last year. Jeffrey Klaus , 50, was sentenced Monday by Judge Catherine Torres-Stahl of the 175th district court after pleading no contest. Klaus was charged with murder in connection with the death of Daniel Gonzalez , 36, who was killed on March 28, 2023 at 4032 E. Southcross Blvd .
Man arrested in fatal shooting of his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend at South Side apartment The witness further stated that while Gonzalez was in the bathroom, Klaus shot inside the bathroom through an adjoining wall. A second witness said Klaus said he was “sorry he did it immediately after the shooting,” according to the affidavit. Several days later, Klaus was arrested by police after they responded to a different apartment for a disturbance involving a gun.
