The man accused of causing a deadly road rage crash in Eagle Mountain in June of 2023 pled guilty.
A Porsche that was hit by Peterson Drew Matheson during a road rage incident. Both occupants of the Porsche were killed in the crash. Families of the two victims are relieved they don’t have to endure endure the pain of a trial.
Family members of the victims, including Peter Salm, brother of Rodney Salm, attended the court hearing. The crash and its aftermath led to changes in Utah law. In response to advocacy by Salm’s family, Utah lawmakers passed a tougher road rage law that increases penalties for those who commit it — although this case was not prosecuted under the new legislation.“I’m currently prosecuting a case where someone didn’t die but was involved in a road rage incident with someone on an electric scooter in a bike lane," Lewis said.
