A large number of emergency vehicles were spotted on the road in Radcliffe last night

Police officers, paramedics and fire crews descended on the scene on Mount Sion Road at around 5.30pm yesterday . Pictures showed a large number of emergency vehicles parked on the side of the road.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said in a statement today that a man - aged in his 30s - was taken to hospital from the scene, where he sadly died. His death is not being treated as suspicious.A file will be passed to the coroner. No further details about the man have been released at this stage.

The GMP spokesperson said: "GMP were called to Mount Sion Road in Radcliffe about concerns for the welfare of a man in his 30s. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at hospital - his death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the coroner. A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Just before 5.30pm this evening , two fire engines from Bolton Central and Whitefield fire station, along with a turntable ladder from Bury and the Enhance Rescue Unit from Leigh, attended an incident on Mount Zion Road, Bury. Firefighters were in attendance for around two hours and twenty minutes.”
