A woman is dead and an Arizona State University professor is in custody after a shooting Saturday evening in Scottsdale.Scottsdale police say they were called to a home near 130th Street and Shea Boulevard for what was originally reported as an accidental shooting.When officers arrived, they found a woman had been shot. Another woman and a boy were also in the home at the time of the shooting, police say.She was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The victim has not yet been identified, but police say the victim was the suspect's wife.Scottsdale police has identified the man as David Zhu. He was arrested and booked for one count of first-degree murder. David Zhu is listed on Arizona State University's website as a professor at the W.P. Carey School of Business. ASU confirmed to ABC15 that as of Sunday, Zhu is still employed at the university.
